Tips and Toes – Keeping Nails Healthy

Having well-groomed and healthy nails is a proof of an overall wellness. Keeping your nails clean and tidy is promoting good health. If your nails are showing signs of weakness, it can be an indication that you are experiencing a certain nutritional deficiency that needs to be resolved at once. Not giving importance to this may end up to a more serious health condition that may affect other parts of your body.

Drinking plenty of water is very helpful in keeping your nails hydrated which prevents cracking of nails. This also helps in moisturizing your tips and toes which prevents dryness. With sufficient hydration and moisturizing, your nails can become stronger and less prone to breaking.

Protect your nails by wearing gloves when doing house work. There are some chemicals that are used in house work that may damage your nails or may cause certain infection. After doing house work, always make sure that your clean your tips with mild soap and water. Afterwards, apply ample amount of lotion to your hands.

Apply even a thin coating of transparent nail polish just add a layer of protective covering in your nails. This thin coating of nail polish is not only protective but it also provides an additional aesthetic appeal to your nails. When removing nail polish, use acetate-based removers which are less harmful and causes less drying than acetone.
